Sylvia Niemann

Department Administrator 

Sylvia Niemann supports the administrative needs of Barnard's biology department and science and public policy program. She works together with faculty, staff, and students and liaises with offices across the college and beyond to plan events, hire new employees, organize promotion and tenure paperwork, maintain records, review student transcripts, set up course evaluations, process grant and award nominations, and track budget expenditures, among other things. When she's not assisting with administrative tasks, Sylvia works in the Mansfield lab and takes lots of dance classes.
