Kristin Presnell
Term Lecturer in Biological Sciences
Kristin Presnell is from Atlanta, Georgia where she received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research has centered on DNA promoter element engineering in Saccharomyces cerevisiae for precision control of gene expression for a variety of applications. These research endeavors have ranged from creating cellular biosensing circuits with CRISPR, to harnessing machine learning algorithms for data-driven promoter sequence designs. When not in the classroom, you can find her inventing new culinary recipes, going to EDM shows, or maximizing her profits on Stardew Valley.
